This is me before I hired a Personal Trainer at 240 lbs.
I have been working in the Health and Wellness field for over 8 years. It started with a positive lifestyle transformation that allowed me to lose 60 pounds of fat. I was an electrician who traded in his pliers and screwdrivers for kettlebells and resistance bands.
I became a personal trainer to help people transform themselves. I was working with many clients who had limitations from past injuries, surgeries, etc. helping them move and feel better with foam rolling and strength training. I wanted to be able to offer more options to help my clients who were experiencing pain. At the same time, I started receiving Myofascial Release (MFR) treatments at a local massage studio. I was dealing with headaches, tinnitus and jaw pain from a car accident in my twenties and had arthritis in both shoulders from a high school football injury. Not only did my own pain and limitations start to improve but I discovered what I had been looking for in my quest to help people.
I enrolled at Spa Tech Institute for Massage Therapy and started their 650-hour program to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. After I graduated, I worked at a private massage studio that specialized in MFR for a year. During that time, I began taking John Barnes MFR training in Arizona, Florida, Virginia and Massachusetts. I have continued with additional MFR since that time. I left the massage studio to treat clients privately while working for myself. This work has had a profound impact on their health and well-being and I encourage you to let it do the same for you.
